The Reeds Spring Botany class has come together to create their own business. We have our own CEO, mangers, and jobs. There are three different job categories: the business team, research and development team, and laborers.So, the students learn how to run a business and the skills needed for all future jobs, and in the process they are growing beautiful plants for the community to enjoy.
Student Driven Class
CEO
The teacher and CEO of the class, Mr. Horton, has created a class that teaches valuable skills needed for the future. He is ready to jump in whenever needed, giving the student the freedom to voice their ideas and work together to overcome any dilemma.
BUSINESS
The students on the business side work on finance and advertisement to ensure customers are informed about available products and current prices. By working on the financial side, the students learn how to handle money and the necessary skills needed to communicate with outside companies.
RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT
The students on the research and development team have the job of finding information regarding how to improve greenhouse growth. This includes learning how long it takes for different plants to grow, how to care for them, and how to use data to find the most efficient way to sell products.
LABORERS
The workers in the greenhouse handle the dirty jobs. They take care of the plants and make sure everything in the greenhouse is ready to sell. They are outside making sure everything is watered and getting the care they need.
